I found a great book at the library called
ABC 123 Craft Book: Make a Cloth Book of Exciting Learning Toys when I was searching for kids books for our letter "C" week last week. I figured I'd check it out since Rachel and I are planning to make a quiet book page a month this year for our kiddos. I say "planning" because I have yet to get started beyond buying some felt and other supplies. Anyway, as much as I love all the great ideas online, I need something tangible and apparently holding a book with pictures in it is much easier for me than looking at a computer screen with pictures on it. I don't know why, but it seems so much simpler.
I decided I like the idea of focusing a page on each of the kids' initials - luckily there is some overlap! As of right now, we need the following letters - E, J, M, T, K, F. There will be more letters to come in August probably, but for now, here are the pages I'm currently most interested in:
| I don't really like the E page much - I'm looking for an elephant page instead, I think.. |
| The M page is cute, but I've seen other mailbox pages I like too. Not sure which I'll choose. |
| Same idea with K. I've seen other Kangaroo pages, but this is pretty cute. I'll have to do some searching before I decide for certain. |
| This two-part T page is possibly one of my favorites overall. The tree is used with both pages, but you can flip up the "day" part to reveal the "night". Absolutely adorable and something different than anything else I've seen. |
| Too cute! |
| J page is fun - the jelly beans are behind clear vinyl so they can be pulled out and played with. |
| I love this F page too! Counting the scales on the fish is adorable - might have to adapt it so it goes up to 10 though. |
