Family Fun Night Friday

At the library on Thursday, Ed saw a Winnie the Pooh DVD and suggested that we might have a movie night for family night this week.  We asked the kids, and they wholeheartedly agreed!

The kids have been a little puzzle-crazy lately, so we started our evening with a puzzle bag.

This puzzle bag includes the pieces to four different 24-piece puzzles.

This was the kids' reaction to the puzzle bag.

Dump them out and let's get started!

Each family member decided to work on a different puzzle.

Jo didn't get to puzzle with us (she tends to eat the pieces), but was pretty happy in her Exersaucer.

Ed worked on the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse puzzle (which is missing 3 pieces).

Tabi chose the hardest puzzle, My Little Pony, so I decided to help her out.

Ephraim chose the Winnie-the-Pooh puzzle.

When Ed and Ephraim finished their puzzles, they started on the last puzzle, Sesame Street, and then Ephraim also helped Tabi out, since she was struggling.

 Jo's still pretty happy!

All done - took 10 minutes to do all four puzzles!

Ed cracked up since Tabi still can't quite do "thumbs up".

The kids decided they needed more challenge, so we upped the ante - three 100+ piece puzzles - and two of them are Care Bears, an added challenge.

 In process . . . .

Ed working on a Care Bears puzzle.

Ephraim working on his Care Bears puzzle.

Tabi and my Strawberry Shortcake puzzle.

Barely hanging on  . . .  by this time she was hungry and grouchy, but she still smiled.
What a little darling!

All three puzzles done!  Yay!!  These three took about 40 minutes.  Pretty sure I need some harder puzzles for Ephraim.  I'm thinking I need to find some 250-piece ones.

On to the main event:  Winnie-the-Pooh while picnic-ing in the living room.  (Jo and I ate in the dining room - I didn't feel like scrubbing the floors.)

Jo joined her brother and sister as soon as she was done.

We even had honey straws for dessert.

The kids loved them and they were simple.  I didn't buy these - just dipped a straw in honey.

Jo got fussy in her chair, so Ed scooped her out and she got to finish the movie with Daddy.

It was a great evening.  There was very little whining and lots of giggles.
We need to do this more often.  I love days like this!
