Tabitha's Baptism

Monday, July 5 was a special day in the Maanum household. Tabitha was welcomed into God's family through the waters of Holy Baptism. In order to allow her godparents to be "present" we did the baptism at home. Both sets of godparents were able to witness the baptism and answer their questions via Skype. Ahh, the wonders of technology!

Tabi dressed in her Mama's baptismal gown which Ephraim also wore last year. The bonnet, shoes and handkerchief used to dry her head all were Mama's and she gets to keep them. The bib was made especially for her, so she gets to keep it as well.

Tabi is not a great fan of having her clothes changed, so she had worked herself into a bit of a tizzy by this point. The blanket behind her also belonged to Mama and is now hers.

We were able to bring the banner from church home and hang it in the living room. Daddy's using a shell from NC to dribble the water over Tabi's head. Ephraim was pretty intrigued by what was going on.

Here's our little family of four in our messy living room.

Both kids were ready to be done by this time.

Just love how alert Tabi is in this photo!

Ephraim decided it wouldn't be too bad to sit with his sister for a couple of minutes of pictures. Tabi, however, wasn't so sure about it.
