On Saturday we went to a local (and free) Car Seat Safety Inspection site. We took both cars, because my car uses the seat belts to strap in the base of the seat and Ed's car has the LATCH system (which is much easier). We wanted to be sure that both seats were properly installed.
Ed was commended and praised for getting both seats not only securely strapped in, but also at the correct angle. This way the baby's head isn't falling forward or tipped back so far that it could lead to a breathing problem. They even checked the infant seat itself and made sure the harness was positioned correctly for when we bring the baby home.
The inspectors also told us that we had chosen their favorite car seat - very safe and easy to use. This added to my confidence and sense of security.
So, now the car is ready to go . . . . . where's the baby?
